International Workshop on

Next Generation Nucleon Decay and Neutrino Detectors (NNN23)

October 6, 2023

The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the 22nd International Workshop on Next Generation Nucleon Decay and Neutrino Detectors (NNN23) is delighted to present the fourth bulletin for the upcoming 22nd International Workshop on Next Generation Nucleon Decay and Neutrino Detectors (NNN23), scheduled to be held on October 11-13, 2023, at Hotel La Torre in Procida (Italy). With the event in a few days, we would like to share some important updates.

Workshop schedule and talks: on the first day, the registration starts at 8:00 AM and the introductory talk is scheduled at 8:45 AM. The next two days the morning session will start at 9:00 AM. For the entire duration of the workshop we will use only one laptop for the projection of the slides. Please upload them at least the day before such that we can download them before the session starts. It will be also helpful for the preparation of the summary talk. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any issue in uploading your talk. The duration of the talks can be checked by looking at the timetable on the indico page of the workshop. For talks lasting 40 minutes, we have allocated 10 minutes for questions and discussion afterward. For all other talks, a 5-minute period is designated for questions.

Poster Session: the poster session is planned at the end of the afternoon session on the first day. The poster should be in A0 format, oriented vertically. We strongly recommend printing the poster in advance. We also recommend avoiding posters printed on fabrics since the supports will not handle them. Upon your arrival, at the check-in desk you will be instructed on where your poster will be exhibited.

Travel to Procida: Procida can be reached from two ports: Calata Porta di Massa and Molo Beverello. Both are situated in Naples and are not far from each other. The tickets can be bought directly at the ports. From the first, you can reach Procida on a ferry, while the second one is intended for hydrofoils. The timetable for the ferries and hydrofoils can be found here. We strongly suggest arriving at the ports no later than 20:30 as the last ferry and hydrofoils are at 21:55. The ferry takes around an hour to get to Procida while hydrofoils around 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Procida, since it is off-season, there may be few taxis. We have alerted taxi drivers of the Island and there are instructions on our website on how to get in touch with an English-speaking driver if there are no taxis when you arrive. Alternatively, you can take the buses L1 and L2. The stop adjacent to the venue is the eleventh coming from the port. The tickets can be purchased at the Capolinea Bus EAV di Procida. Be aware that google maps is outdated about the buses, since it is reporting the old bus numbering. Detailed instructions on how to get to the venue can be found here.

First Bulletin

International Workshop on

Next Generation Nucleon Decay and Neutrino Detectors (NNN23)

 April 19, 2023

The 22nd International Workshop on Next Generation Nucleon Decay and Neutrino Detectors (NNN23) will be held in Procida, an island near Neaples (Italy) from October 11 to 13, 2023. Procida was awarded Italy's Capital of Culture for 2022. The Workshop venue will be the Hotel La Torre Garden. NNN23 is co-hosted by INFN - Sezione di Napoli, University of Naples Federico II, the Department of Physics "E. Pancini" of the University of Naples Federico II and Vanvitelli University. Over the last 24 years, the NNN series of workshops has been providing the international community a forum for in-depth discussions on large-scale NNN detectors since its inaugural workshop in 1999 at Stony Brook (NY). The main physics topics of the workshop include: Searches for proton decay, CP violation in the lepton sector, determination of the neutrino mass hierarchy and observation of neutrinos from core collapse supernovae.

Following the successful format of previous NNN workshops, NNN23 will have invited plenary talks giving a broad overview of the topics of the Workshop and selected contributed talks on more specific subjects. A poster session addressing detector R&D, NNN physics, unification theory, and beams for NNN detectors will be organized. Graduate students and postdocs are strongly encouraged to attend the workshop. The speakers are required to attend the workshop in person. Details of the workshop program, registration, accommodations, etc. will be provided in the 2nd Bulletin.
